The MTN-MUSON School of Music Scholarship Application Is Now Open

Applications for the MTN MUSON School of Music Scholarship have been made open by the MTN Foundation in collaboration with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON). The scholarship, which is in its eighteenth year, helps and develops the upcoming generation of Nigerian musicians.

The program offers a fully financed two-year diploma program in music, giving gifted people a rare chance to study under renowned faculty members at MUSON and receive outstanding teaching and mentoring.

Both vocal and instrumental music are given priority in the MTN MUSON Scholars Program, guaranteeing that students receive specialized instruction appropriate for their chosen discipline. Intensive training will help vocal majors improve their expressiveness, range, and methods. Achieving competency and mastery in their chosen instrument, instrumental majors will get individualized instruction in a range of classical music instruments, including the flute, violin, cello, and piano.

Executive Director of MTN Foundation Odunayo Sanya expressed her excitement by saying, “At MTN Foundation, we are committed to empowering young Nigerians and fostering the growth of our rich cultural heritage.” One method we continuously develop talent is through the MTN MUSON School of Music Scholarship, which gives budding artists the chance to perform on a global scale.

Selected candidates will receive access to MUSON’s cutting-edge facilities and resources, as well as opportunities to perform in school concerts and events, as well as an annual scholarship that will cover tuition, books, and transportation costs for the duration of their studies, covering both theoretical and practical aspects.

Interested parties may apply online at muson.org/diploma-school, the official MTN Foundation website. The deadline for applications is August 18, 2024. The MUSON Centre in Lagos will host auditions and interviews for the shortlisted individuals.

MTN Nigeria continues to be committed to assisting with projects that uplift the status of youth in Nigeria and contribute to the nation’s cultural diversity. MTN Nigeria continues to support in the arts and culture through the MTN MUSON School of Music Scholarship because it understands the critical role that these things play in promoting creativity, unity, and patriotism. In order to ensure that Nigeria’s rich musical legacy is maintained and honored on both national and international platforms, MTN is committed to giving young people the opportunity to develop their abilities and realize their goals. This relationship with MUSON is a reflection of that commitment.
