The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially accepted the judgment of the Rivers State High Court, which nullified the Party’s Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses held in Rivers State on July 27, August 10, and August 31, 2024.
In a press statement issued on January 16, 2025, the NWC affirmed the Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor-led Rivers State Executive as the rightful body to oversee the affairs of the PDP in the state. This decision follows the court’s ruling in Suit No. PHC/2301/CS/2024, delivered on January 13, 2025.
Describing the court’s verdict as a reaffirmation of the PDP’s commitment to transparency and adherence to internal democracy, the NWC commended the judiciary for upholding due process. The Party further charged the Ewor-led executive to foster unity and stability within the Party to ensure its continued growth and success.

The NWC also called on party members, stakeholders, and supporters in Rivers State to rally behind the new leadership to strengthen the Party’s mission. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of supporting the developmental strides of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whose administration it praised for delivering democratic dividends in line with the PDP manifesto.
The Party lauded its Rivers State members for their loyalty and dedication, reaffirming its status as an inclusive and democratic institution driven by the aspirations of the people.
