Real Madrid forward Vinícius Jr. could face a two-year football ban.

Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior could face disciplinary action from FIFA over claims that he co-owns several football clubs while still playing professionally, which may breach regulatory rules.

The Brazilian star has been a key player in Real Madrid’s campaign this season, consistently delivering impressive performances as the team competes for silverware.

However, away from the pitch, his business activities have attracted the scrutiny of football’s governing body. Reports suggest that the complaint points to violations of Article 22 of the Spanish Football Federation’s Code of Sports Justice and Article 20 of FIFA’s Code of Ethics—both of which forbid active players from owning football clubs, either directly or indirectly, even if the conflict of interest is only potential.

If found guilty, Vinícius Júnior could face serious consequences, including a fine or a suspension from all football-related activities for up to two years.

FIFA has officially opened an investigation into the 25-year-old winger after receiving a complaint from Brazilian investment firm Tiberis Holding, submitted to the FIFA Ethics Committee.

The complaint raises concerns about a possible conflict of interest tied to Vinícius’s involvement in club ownership through ALL Agenciamento Desportivo—a company he co-owns with his father, Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira, and businessman Thassilo Soares.

The company reportedly focuses on acquiring and managing football clubs. Back in February, it was alleged that Vinícius purchased Portuguese second-division club Alverca for approximately €10 million.

Tiberis further claims that it was pressured into selling a 16.5% stake in Athletic Club de São João del-Rei to Vinícius’s firm.
