Mass Defection Rocks Akwa Ibom as 24 Lawmakers Dump PDP for APC

The power tussle over who is the National Secretary, within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, seemed to have come to an end as Senator Samuel Anyanwu, have been formally mandated to resume immediately as the National Secretary of the party.

This position was made known by the Acting National Chairman of PDP, Ambassador Umar Damagum, on Wednesday during a press briefing at the party’s National Secretariat, Abuja.

Damagum, also announced that the proposed 100th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party will no longer hold due to procedural irregularities.

Rather, a National Caucus meeting of the party will now hold on June 30, a date which was earlier scheduled for the party’s NEC meeting.
