Anambra LG survey: PDP seeks free and fair elections

The newly established Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has been encouraged to guarantee a free and fair local government election in the state by Igwe Chigozie, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chairman for Anambra State.

Speaking at a news conference in Awka on Thursday, Igwe stressed how important it is for ANSIEC to remain impartial and not show any bias toward the administration led by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Before the next local government elections, he issued a warning: the PDP will not put up with any kind of rigging or manipulation.

According to him, the party is set up and ready to win the majority of the seats in parliament.

He declared, “The PDP has been planning and working nonstop towards the upcoming elections in the state, including the 2025 governorship elections.”

In addition, the Chairman asked ANSIEC to follow the guidelines of impartiality, fairness, and transparency when organizing and carrying out the elections.

He emphasized that the PDP and the people of Anambra State will not accept anything less than that.

He also, urged the electoral board to guarantee that no intimidation or harassment would prevent any eligible voter from having the chance to take part in the election.

Igwe gave evidence of the PDP’s acceptance and popularity among Anambra State residents when he voiced confidence in the party’s capacity to win the local government elections.

Reiterating the party’s dedication to democratic ideals and its resolve to guarantee that the people’s will triumphs in the upcoming local government elections in the State, he gave his word that the PDP would keep up its hard work to secure success in the anticipated elections.
