Court Bars Wike’s Associates From Holding Rally In Bayelsa

April 04, 2025

Bayelsa State High Court has restrained associates of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike from holding a planned mega rally in Yenagoa on April 12, 2025.

The interim order was granted by Justice I.A. Uzakah following an ex-parte motion filed by the state Attorney General, Biriyai Dambo SAN. The suit lists Wike, his associate George Turnah, and the NEW Associates as defendants, along with the Nigeria Police and its leadership.

The court barred the defendants from organizing or participating in any political gathering in support of Wike pending the hearing of a motion for an interlocutory injunction. The case has been adjourned to April 11, 2025.
