Governor Oborevwori Flags off Construction of Cubana Millennium City in Asaba

The Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, today presided over the official ground-breaking ceremony of Cubana Millennium City, a landmark luxury urban development set to redefine residential living, hospitality, and commercial investment in the South-South region.

The ceremony, held at the project site along the Benin–Onitsha Expressway by Witchtech Junction, Asaba, attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and key stakeholders from across Nigeria’s real estate and business communities.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Governor Onyeme praised the Cubana Group for its commitment to partnering with the Delta State Government to drive sustainable economic development and job creation. He noted that Cubana Millennium City aligns strongly with the MORE Agenda—promoting modernization, opportunities, resource efficiency, and enhanced infrastructure across Delta State.

“This project is not just another development; it is a bold statement about the future of Asaba,” the Deputy Governor said.

“Cubana Millennium City will stimulate economic growth, attract investors, and create thousands of direct and indirect jobs for our people.”

The Chairman of the Cubana Group, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (popularly known as Obi Cubana), expressed gratitude to the state government for its support, assuring residents that the project will set a new standard for integrated living and premium lifestyle experiences.

Obi Cubana noted that Cubana Millennium City will feature world-class residential units, hospitality facilities, entertainment zones, parks, and essential commercial infrastructure designed to elevate Asaba into a premier investment and tourism destination.

“Our vision is to build a city within a city—safer, smarter, more connected, and reflective of the aspirations of modern Nigerians,” he said.

Cubana Millennium City represents one of the most ambitious private-sector-driven developments in the region, and construction activities are expected to begin immediately following the ground-breaking.

The event concluded with blessings from traditional leaders, symbolic excavation by the Governor, and guided tours led by the project management team.

Cubana Millennium City is a premium mixed-use development conceptualized to deliver upscale residential living, modern hospitality experiences, and commercial infrastructure in Asaba, Delta State. Designed as a self-sustaining urban ecosystem, the project integrates luxury, culture, entertainment, and community living.
