IPMAN Threatens strike If NMDPRA Fails On N100b Unpaid Bridging Claims

February 24, 2025

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN has threatened to withdraw its services nationwide if the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, fails to pay the union outstanding bridging claims totaling N100 billion.

IPMAN, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to NMDPRA, to that effect.

Chairman of the IPMAN Depot Chairmen Forum, Yahaya Alhasan, announced the decision during a press conference on Monday in Abuja.

IPMAN, gave the ultimatum following NMDPRA’s alleged failure to address the debt, despite promises made 40 days prior in the presence of the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu.

The union, said the unpaid claims, which dates back to 2024, represented funds deducted from marketers’ product payments meant for bridging allowances.

Reading from a communique, Alhasan expressed dismay over the NMDPRA’s inaction, stating, “If NMDPRA doesn’t pay our money within seven days, we are going to withdraw our services across the nation.”
