Leader of C & S requests that Tinubu speak to Nigerians

Prophet Adegboyega Alao, the esteemed leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the nation and urge those planning demonstrations to reconsider their actions. In his statement, Prophet Alao emphasized the importance of dialogue and restraint from all parties involved.

“President Tinubu is a father of the country,” Prophet Alao declared. “It is imperative that he address the nation and request additional time to carry out his palliative programs in order to mitigate the effects of the elimination of the petroleum subsidies.”

Prophet Alao stressed the need for the President to acknowledge the shortcomings in the distribution of palliatives, noting that a significant portion of the aid intended for the most vulnerable Nigerians did not reach them. He urged President Tinubu to initiate investigations into how states and organizations utilized the funds meant for palliative care.

“The progress made toward democracy since 1999 could be undone by any large-scale demonstration against the current administration,” he warned. Prophet Alao advised the President to be cautious of disloyal party members and to avoid inciting them to level accusations against the opposition.

He further counseled the President to ensure that security services do not overreact to demonstrators’ threats. “Now is not the time for harsh rhetoric from the government or the security services. In actuality, the security services have a responsibility to safeguard the demonstrators and guarantee their safety,” he said.

Prophet Alao’s remarks come at a critical time as tensions rise over the recent removal of petroleum subsidies, a move that has sparked widespread concern and potential unrest among the populace. His call for calm, dialogue, and thorough investigation into palliative distribution reflects a desire to maintain peace and progress in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

As the nation awaits President Tinubu’s response, the hope is that dialogue and understanding will prevail, ensuring stability and continued growth for Nigeria.
