MTN Nigeria To Pay Interim Dividend of N5 per 2 kobo ordinary.

Details from its corporate disclosure has revealed that MTN Nigeria Plc, is set to pay an interim dividend to shareholders this week.

This follows bumper earnings harvest in the 9 months of financial year 2025, prompting the telecom company board of directors to announce a plan to share profit with shareholders in the form of a dividend.

The telecommunication giant has been on dividend holiday for two years, as foreign exchange liabilities exposed its balance sheet to significant fluctuation that damaged its earnings performance after naira devaluation.

MTN, told the Nigerian Exchange that, “An Interim Dividend of N5 per 2 kobo ordinary share has been approved by the Board of Directors of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, subject to appropriate deduction of withholding tax.”

Only shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as at the close of business on 20 November 2025 would be paid he interim dividend.

“On 28 November 2025, dividends will be paid electronically to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members as at 20 November 2025, and who have completed the e-dividend registration and mandated the Registrar to pay their dividends directly into their Bank accounts,” MTN said.

MTN Nigeria share price declined to N465 last week due to soft selloffs. This put the company’s market value at 9.762 trillion, 11% below the highest value posted in the Nigerian market in 52 weeks.
