NIA Pledges Collaboration With NAICOM for Consolidated Insurance Bill

The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has announced its intention to collaborate with the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to implement the 10-year strategic plan and finalize the consolidated insurance bill. Additionally, the association expressed its readiness to work with the new Executives of NAICOM to enhance the insurance sector’s performance.

These statements were made during a courtesy visit by NIA staff to the commission in Abuja. The delegation was briefed on the commission’s ongoing review of its strategic plan to align it with the Nigerian Insurance Industry’s 10-year strategic plan.

During the meeting, the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, assured continued collaboration with the NIA to protect consumer rights, particularly in ensuring the timely settlement of legitimate claims.

In his closing remarks, the Commissioner for Insurance reiterated the executive management’s commitment to driving growth in the Nigerian insurance market. He emphasized the collaborative spirit between NAICOM and NIA, underscoring their shared dedication to advancing the insurance sector and safeguarding consumer interests.
