Nigeria’s national electricity grid has collapsed again.
Data from the Independent System Operator, ISO, on Wednesday, revealed that power generation dropped from 2,917.83 megawatts (MW) to just 1.5MW between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m, confirming a national grid collapse.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, in a statement to its customers, explained that the outage across its franchise area which occurred around 11:23 a.m. was due to the grid failure,
“Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 hrs today, affecting electricity supply across our franchise areas.
